The Cedars is a very lovely establishment. The rooms are clean, a good size, well laid out and good value for money. The staff are very helpful, thoughtful and friendly. The bar has a wonderful selection of drinks and snacks and a very good selection of areas to sit, chill out and listen to music.

After our visit to The Steam Garden at The Cedar Hotel, we were very pleasantly surprised. This was our 1st meal out since the original lockdown had been lifted. The garden is laid out beautifully and felt very welcoming. They had social distancing rules in place (one way system round the hotel and standing 2 metres away when being served plus screening around the bar). The staff were very friendly and saw to us straight away. Highly recommend trying this place (especially if it is your 1st since lockdown)

Attended this venue for a wake/celebration as its just a cross the road from Loughborough Crematorium and its a perfect location. Staff are friendly and the hotel is beautiful inside. Food was also very nice. Will definitely think in future about booking to stay in this hotel for pleasure or business.

Overall a Nice stay As mentioned in other reviews the hotel is very dated , I cant comment on the cost as my company paid . However the most important thing was the room was clean , the bed comfortable, and I had everything I needed for an overnight business stay . The WIFI is a little slow though which was very frustrating as I had a lot of documents to upload, but guess it would be Ok for basic email. Bathroom clean and tidy, room over all fine for a few nights away with TV and tea and coffee, and nice and warm. Food is very reasonably priced unlike some places I have stayed at, and very good quality and choice, I had the mixed grill which is the best I ever had the chicken just melted in the mouth perfect. Second night Chicken Adobo which was really nice ! The bar prices were also very reasonable about the same as my local and good beers . Breakfast from 7 am, was nice and of good quality all food was hot, and cooked fresh to order, when I say good quality it really was not your supermarket type bacon and sausage. On the whole I quite liked it as a comfortable stop over , with excellent food and friendly staff. The datedness is not so important as it is to have somewhere warm and comfortable , with good food , my only comment for improvement would be to address the slow internet issue , I would recommend this to anyone who isn’t too fussy on appearances as the rest of the experience is perfect.

Stayed one night here when we visited the Great Central Railway just before Christmas. We hadn't booked but they had a room available on the ground floor which backed right onto the railway which was perfect. For £59 for the night, it was very good value for money. The room was small and dated, but very clean with tea and coffee making facilities and shower gel and shampoo provided. The small TV was sufficient with a large range of channels to choose from. I would definitely recommend this place to stay if you are visiting the area.

We have stayed here twice now, but this was the first time we made use of the facilities (Previous we just used as a place to rest up after a night out). The staff are extremely friendly, accommodating (Can't do enough for you) & knowledgeable about the local area. The garden, bar & restaurant are very relaxing, spacious & a great escape. We had the burritos for our meal & extremely good. Lots of filling & spicey! The bar is stocked with a good range of local charnwood brewery bottled ales (Amongst others). The rooms are cosy but feel they could do with a bit of refurbishment. However, it was warm, clean & comfortable which is all you can ask for really.

Great staff, very friendly and very helpful. Yes, hotel is a bit dated but it is an old property and for the price the value is very good. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food was lovely, especially the breakfast, which was cooked fresh while we waited and for £8 was very well priced. The food menu is very limited i.e. burgers, burritos, little snacks but, with the state of affairs with Covid, where staff could be told to self-isolate overnight, it makes sense not to offer a full a la carte menu as you may not be able to cater for it if the chef or other kitchen staff are off through Covid. The burger I had and the haloumi fries my wife had were very good indeed and better than we have had at other so called "restaurants" who charge much more. Lovely, quiet location, great if you are staying the night and are going on the Charnwood Forester and don't want to travel back. Lovely garden and seating area, well spaced out for Covid restrictions. Great to see the steam trains passing while you have a drink and/or something to eat. Good one way system in place in the hotel so felt safe. All in all a good value, well situated and friendly hotel with great staff. Remember though that it is an old building so do not expect modern facilities, elegant or lavish surroundings nor fine dining. If you want that there are other hotels that will cater for your needs but will charge you double the price and more.

Had my first contact with my daughter and her family here today. The previous night my husband rang the Ceder Hotel to find out what the criteria was about using the pub. The criteria was explained to us by a lovely young girl and my husband booked a table outside in the garden. We arrived at the pub and a gentleman came out to greet us and tell us what was going to happen. We went into the garden and sat at a table. My husband then went inside to order our drinks and the owner told him that they were not opening until Thursday for the restaurant but as we had phoned up they opened up just for us ( they were doing takeaways) to meet up. The food and the service was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and all our food was cooked lovely. The owner actually came out with a bowl of water for their dog. Made us feel really special and we all got to meet up and I saw my little grandson enjoying the freedom to run around the gardens and watch the steam trains passing by the garden. Totally recommend this to everyone. I will remember our first meeting after lock down.
